THINGS TO DO IN PLAYA DE LAS AMERICAS IN 24 HOURS

Located on Tenerife’s southwest coast, Playa de las Americas has become a hugely popular resort with its year-round sun and multiple sandy beaches, which have attracted Brits for many years.
If you are staying at one of our Resorts in Tenerife and you are planning a day trip to Playa de las Americas, read on to find out some of its highlights.
Enjoy a morning walk on the beach

Playa de las Americas has a staggering six beaches to choose from, and you can start your day with a peaceful walk along one of these golden sand beaches and enjoy the serene atmosphere before the crowds start to build later in the day.
Fay Doyle from the This Expansive Adventure blog, has visited Tenerife before, and she recommended visiting the Playa de las Americas beach: “If you’re staying in the Costa Adeje area, checking out Playa de las Americas, or even just on your way back to Tenerife South Airport, I’d really recommend taking some time here to chill out and relax. This was one of my favourite sandy beaches on the island and, in my opinion, one of the best beaches on Tenerife that I visited.”

Try one of the water sports activities

The beaches around Playa de las Americas offer an array of water sports that you can try, such as paddleboarding, jet skiing, or parasailing. So, after you walk along the beach, you can get your heart racing and try one of these adrenaline-filled activities.
Many rental services are available along the beachfront, and it is the perfect activity for any thrill-seekers to start their day.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant

After all the thrills and spills of the water sports activities, you can eat lunch at one of the local restaurants close to the beaches. Some of the most highly-rated restaurants include:
- The Bank Steak House
- Limonella
- Oinè Trattoria Italiana
- Restaurante Mayte
Enjoy some retail therapy

If you visit the Safari Shopping Centre or stroll along the Avenida Las Américas, you will find a great mix of high-end boutiques, souvenir shops, and cafés. The Safari Centre is regarded as Tenerife’s swankiest shopping centre with many well-known designer shops, including Bounty, GAS, The Levi Store, Armani and Hugo Boss.
There are also top restaurants and bars that you can relax in after an hour or so of looking around the shops.
Watch the sunset at Mirador de La Centinela
You can take a short drive to the nearby Mirador de La Centinela and enjoy panoramic views of the island as the sun sets over the horizon. It’s a peaceful way to transition into the evening.
Dinner and live entertainment

In Playa de las Americas, you will find cuisines from around the world, and you can head to an array of restaurants for dinner. If you want an experience that you won’t forget, we recommend choosing a restaurant that also has live entertainment that you can enjoy.
Two of the most popular places to eat dinner in the area are the Hard Rock Café Tenerife and the El Molino Blanco.
The Hard Rock Café Tenerife is in the centre of Playa de las Americas, and here you will experience an amazing selection of freshly made favourites that have been prepared by world-renowned chefs. You can enjoy foods such as nachos, steaks, fajitas, grilled salmon, steak burgers and more.
Food & lifestyle blogger Becca, who runs her own blog, spoke about her dining experience at the Hard Rock Café: “Now, I don’t want you to call me a creature of habit, but I may or may not have ordered my usual burger once again. Of course, it had to be the BBQ bacon cheeseburger. Whilst we’re on the topic of this burger, I don’t think I’ve ever had a bigger one than this.
“But, like any other Hard Rock Cafe I’ve visited, the atmosphere was brilliant, and the staff were great.”
El Molino Blanco is on the outskirts of Playa de las Americas and close to Costa Adeje, but it is worth the short walk as dishes based on grilled meat and typical Canarian recipes in a pleasant atmosphere. You can enjoy dishes such as duck confit with orange, Iberian pork cheeks on mashed potatoes and port sauce, and Seafood Paella. Alongside your food, you can also enjoy the best wine from Tenerife.
At both venues, there is live music that you can enjoy, ranging from traditional Spanish music to live rock bands and more modern music.
